Just finishing hardening off the plants I sowed earlier this year and getting excited that they will soon be in the garden!
The rhubarb has been great this year, though it started much earlier than last year, so maybe it will finish earlier? I’m no expert so I’m not sure. We’ve been enjoying it in all of our favourite recipes and so that we can continue to have it for the rest of the year I’m picking the juicy pink stems now and freezing them. I do this by giving them a quick rinse, chopping them into 2cm chunks, open freezing them on baking trays and packing into freezer bags. This way the chunks stay separate and it’s easy to get out the amount you need for each recipe.
